Totter brings balance to small business complexity.

Totter exists for owners who are building beyond one simple business: multiple entities, tax posture, liability separation, bank feeds, advisors, reports, and obligations all moving at once. Our job is to keep that structure balanced enough that the owner can move faster.

Most accounting software sees one company at a time. The people we build for don't live that way — they hold an operating company here, a holding company there, a new venture on the way. Totter keeps each entity's books separate while giving owners, accountants, and advisors one clear operating picture.

Why a teeter-totter?

The mark is a teeter-totter made precise: a triangular fulcrum holding an angled beam inside a single blue circle. It is how we think about the work. A business with real structure is always carrying weight on both ends — growth on one side, obligations on the other. Totter is not just keeping the books level. It is helping ambitious businesses use structure as leverage.

Why we built this

Serious small businesses stopped being one company a long time ago — an operating company here, the building in its own LLC, a new venture on the way. The software never caught up. Every tool still sees one set of books at a time, and the structure that actually protects owners gets managed in spreadsheets and year-end cleanups.

We built Totter to take the whole structure seriously: every entity's books separate and defensible, one clear picture across all of them, and nothing posted without a person saying so. Totter runs its own books on Totter — the guardrails hold us before they hold you.

What we believe.

Six commitments that shape every feature we ship.

Balance is active

Balance is not stillness. It is the discipline that lets a business move. Clean books are not the goal — they are what makes the next move possible.

Separation protects opportunity

Entity boundaries matter. Books, accounts, approvals, and reports stay separate even when the owner needs one operating picture. We never merge books, and we never will.

Evidence before advice

Totter surfaces prompts, exceptions, and posture — and always shows the underlying records. It says "consider reviewing with your CPA," never "this will reduce your taxes."

Automation with accountability

Totter does the repetitive work, explains why it did it, and leaves humans in control of judgment calls. Every suggestion names its source. Nothing posts without you.

Ambition without recklessness

The product can feel electric and growth-minded without promising tax wins, legal certainty, or magic. We would rather be trusted than impressive.

Calm in complexity

Dense financial workflows should feel organized, fast, and trustworthy. Complexity is the customer's reality; confusion doesn't have to be.

Build the structure. Keep the books.
